Raise your voices for GSL

I am deeply concerned about complacency setting in regarding the health and future of the Great Salt Lake. This autumn, I flew four times over the lake in a commercial plane. What I saw brought tears to my eyes. Pictures speak louder than words. I have been flying over the lake for 33 years. From my window seat, I have seen the changes taking place. I now see more dirt, dust and ground than lake. I see a sick lake that is discolored, very low in volume and diminishing. It looks worse this year than I have seen before.

When you fly over, please take pictures, then share them with your friends and your state representatives and share your pictures and/or your voice during lobby days on Thursdays, 9 a.m., meeting in the Copper Room of the East Senate Building. Now is the time to act as the 2025 session of the State Legislature begins. Let your voices be heard and your images shared, before it is too late.

If only our tears could fill up the lake ... we wouldn’t be in the position we are in now.
